As the Month of May is dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, so the Month of June is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Each day during June you will find posted here a reflection, example, and prayer taken from The Month of the Sacred Heart by Abbe Berlioux. As I did each day in May, I have added a practice to each day's reading and prayer.As an aid in devotion to the Sacred Heart there is now a web page, Devotions to the Sacred Heart, which you can access from the Links section of the sidebar. On that page you will find various prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and also any prayers that might be recommended in the practices. If you have any suggestions for prayers please email them to me at jscottbaileycssr@gmail.com and include the text of the prayer in your email.
You will also find below a brief account of the life of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque to whom Jesus appeared, revealing His Sacred Heart and asking for reparation for the cold and ungrateful hearts of men.
As we make our way through this month, let us pray for one another that we will be inflamed with the great love of the Sacred Heart and share it with the world.
